Proven facts

Experts have shown that cats calm down and bring much-desired peace of mind. Cats seem to understand how their actions change their physiology. Even if they have not reached a rational level for this, I know how to achieve calm and contentment.

Veterinarians and animal behavior specialists have discovered a fact. Cats can to raise our level of serotonin (the good mood hormone). To get rid of stress and to feel better, you only have to watch your cat’s behavior. Here are some ways to cut the stress you can learn from your cat.

Yoga teacher, touch value, clean lines

Cats are born yoga teachers. Before getting out of bed, they make sure they lie down. It lowers its head, spreads its front paws, and lifts the back of the body.

Cat

Hold the position for a few seconds to take full advantage of this complete intimidation. Then I start working on other muscle groups. Thus, cats manage to maintain their mobility from small to old.

The lesson for you: Before you get out of bed, lie down. Sit on your back with your legs extended and your arms above your head. Inhale and exhale as you relax your whole body. Do not think about anything else but how well your muscles relax.

Cats know the therapeutic value of touch. I know very well when they need a hug. They are not ashamed to ask for it. Their conception of affection is an original one. It has  varied manifestations. It rubs on your legs, jumping the lap or I give you your hand, to attract your attention.

The lesson for you: It’s said that we need 10 hugs daily without sexual connotation. Get them shameless. Or enjoy a therapeutic massage daily. You will feel more relaxed. The outfit has to win. The muscles of the neck and back will be less tense. Your blood circulation will improve. The day will start much better if a family member gives you such a massage.

Cats kept clean. They like to clean their fur, eyes, and ears. It rarely happens to see them dirty.

The lesson for you: you take a shower or a bath. Removing the epidermis layer promotes better oxygenation of the body. A peeling from time to time does not spoil. Wash often and you will see that you feel better.

Loneliness, a slumber, avoiding stressful situations

Cats know how to appreciate loneliness. Unlike dogs, they do not hide from their owners. They often try to stay alone

The lesson for you: Nowadays, the possibility of spending part of your time alone is often ignored. Daily for at least 5 minutes away from telephones, shaking and galling. These “breaks” are essential for maintaining the inner balance. It helps you recover from difficult or tense moments.

Cats know how beneficial a nap is. They usually sleep up to 16 hours a day when they are adults.

  sleping

When they are kittens they sleep for 18 hours a day. Cats get very fast. When they wake up (no clock lol), sometimes after ten minutes or an hour, they rested and lively.

The lesson for you: As we sleep, our body recovers and “loads” with energy. Doctors recommend that we sleep 8 hours every night. Due to the alert rhythm of daily life, we often fail to make this “norm”. Some of the smartest people (ex. Edison, Einstein) often “stole” a nap. E you have the opportunity, do not hesitate to sleep ten minutes to revive yourself. There are large companies that have arranged sleeping rooms for employees. It’s proven that those companies have excellent results. But be careful: do not exceed 20 minutes, so as not to fall into a deep sleep. It is possible to wake up even more tired.

Cats know how to avoid stressful situations. Cats retreat the quietest places in the house. When face the vacuum cleaners in operation,

run

the children screaming, the gullible guests. They are not rude. But he refuses to endure an unpleasant situation. Cats avoid conflict situations. Avoid the stressful confrontations that consume a lot of energy.

The lesson for you: sometimes you have to deal with many stressful situations. It is much better for your health to avoid them.

The right diet, living in the present, being straight and not being materialistic

Cats know how to choose the right food. They leave the impression that they are grumpy. Their favorite foods are salmon and tuna. Their meat contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

eat

The lesson for you: eat more fish and less fried food (including hamburgers). This will lower your cholesterol level. Cholesterol is the biggest enemy of your heart.

Cats are currently living. They are happy and healthy. They have no guilt complexes.

The lesson for you: Often you think you should have done something instead of what you’ve already done. You ask bitterly: “what would have been if …”. Many of us complain about what has happened in the past and fear for the future. Learn from your cat to live in the present and take things as they are!

Cats are straight. They ask what they want: “another bit of food, please!” Or “another five minutes of scratching, please!”. If the answer is negative, do not insist too much and do not have problems. Do not embarrassed to take what you want: for example, a piece of cheese on the table.

The lesson for you: some of us burdened by inferiority complexes. Some believe that if they ask for something, they will disturb others. Often we are hesitant or consider that we do not deserve what we ask. You will feel a lot less stressed if you ask for what you want. Do not put your heart into it when you are refused!

Cats are not materialistic. You might be more excited than your cat when you bought her latest fashion toy. Sometimes the cat is happy run with a roll of toilet paper or play with a plastic bag.

The lesson for you: trying to keep up with your friends / older neighbors. Affects not only the bank account. Also, the initial balance. In trying to have the newest products, there is a great chance that you will never “win”. Will accumulate frustration and stress. Give yourself from time to time something you value. You will see that you will enjoy much more than an object purchased to be in step with fashion.

  1. Most certainly you can learn to live from watching the activities and antics of your cat. I have two, and they provide so much joy that I would not otherwise have. They provide a calming effect for me that the dogs do not (they are much more active and also are okay).

I picked my two cats up as strays from a schoolyard, and the first thing I did was get them to the vet for a checkup, and also I had them spayed and neutered. There are already so many cats that do not have a home here in Dubai, and I thought I do not want these two adding to the problem.

Since they were quite small still they have grown up right along with me, and I have come to appreciate them as they do me. They still have a bit of the street cat in them, but not much these days. You really have highlighted many of the positive attributes that cats have, and I can appreciate mine even more after reading this. Thanks so much for a great article!

    1. Thank you for your comment Dave. I’m glad you have two cats, especially since they are taken from the street. I’m sure they enrich your life.

      All the best to you

  2. Definitely yes, I learnt from this. Cats are adorable animals that not only serve as a means of entertainment or become our personal associate, they become our lovers and best friends. They are always there for us and all these that they do on a daily too would really help us to live a better life. For example, their daily stretching would teach us on the need to exercise and so much more. These are great tips.

  3. There is so much that I have not noticed from my cat at all and you have explicated on that. Honestly, if we all as humans lived out lives like the cat does them the world might be a better place and probably there wouldn’t be a world war one or two. We’d love ourselves and our family and hoped to grow better. We’d live a healthy life by eating well, doing yoga and sleeping well too. Thank you for sharing this.
