You, your cat, and Halloween

I don’t doubt you all know about the Halloween party. The main symbol is the carved pumpkin. He represents Jack’s dormitory.

During the time there were many legends. And many superstitions. You can find them by doing a google search.
You, your cat, and Halloween
I want to tell you about the black cat. In every witch’s house, there is a black cat. There are many legends about the black cat. He has always suffered from Halloween.
Even today: some people take a cat from the shelter for Halloween. But then they realize that they do not like the color of the fur and get rid of the cat. Horrible.
The cat, black or not, is an adorable being. He loves halloween decorations or gifts.
I propose that this Halloween make you joy, both you and the cats.
Here are some objects, from which to buy one. Turn Halloween into your holiday and your cat’s.

You do not need to have a black cat.

If you have children, it will be beautiful.

And somethig scary:

I’m a big cat loving, since the young baby.   My mother was great loving cats, grandmother as well.   My daughter is coming to the end. My daughter loves cats so much that she makes a second faculty: veterinary medicine.   Four generations, what do you think?

  1. I have been quite busy with so many thing about Halloween, but I haven’t thought about my can’t. Halloween with my cat would be quite nice because she can give as really scary look some times , but she isnt black in colour but white. I would look for some costume for the old lady. Thanks for sharing

  2. I have been researching a bit about the link between Haloween and black cats. And the superstition goes back into medieval ages. As you have explained, there was a link between witches and black cats. Quite curious. And most of those concepts have been translated into the modern celebration of Haloween.

    1. Thank you for your comment Henry. The history of Halloween is very long and controversial. Also the black cats. I’m trying to change some superstitions about these cats. They are just like any other.

  3. I love this! I have a black and white cat.  Do you have any suggestions on what I could do as far as costumes go?  I’m not  a very creative person lol.  She is about six month old.
She is very hyper too, so I’m not sure how good some costumes would work with her.

    1. Thank you for your comment J. There are several costumes on Amazon to turn your cat black. Just for a while lol. They might even have fun and not disturb the costume. Success.

  4. I like disguising my pets. I’m an amateur photographer and have taken the cutest pics with them wearing custumes. And looking at some of the pics in your post has given me a cool idea of a hat for my cat. Thank you very much for this post! I’d like to show you a link with the pictures of my cats wearing their cool costumes! LOL

  5. Hello,

You have listed some interesting objects that are related to Halloween. I personally like the cat Halloween costumes. There are adorable. And i have to agree with you about the superstitions about black cats. I think it’s okay to have your own beliefs. But I doesn’t mean we can harm animals because of that. If anyone believes that black cats bring bad luck or something like that, then they can simply stay away from black cats. Why harm them? Thank you very much for writing this article during this Halloween season. Lets hope people will refrain from harming cats in the future.

  6. This is so fitting for this time of year, I love it! Are you serious that people take cats from shelters specifically on Halloween? And then returns them?? 🙁 This is so sad.
The Lion head costume is way too adorable!! However, I don’t think my cat would allow me to put that on her, I would probably end up losing an eye in my attempt! LOL such a cute post, thank you <3

    1. Thank you for your comment . Yes, unfortunately there are people who take black cats from the shelter for Halloween and then realize that they don’t really like black cats and abandon them.

  7. Hello dear Carmen,

I call my self a cat lady and I also love Halloween. This post is exactly what I love to read about on the internet. I had no idea that people took black cats for Halloween and then they dumped them. It is very bad and maybe shelters should do something about that!

    1. Thank you for your comment . Yes, unfortunately there are people who take black cats from the shelter for Halloween and then realize that they don’t really like black cats and abandon them. The shelters should really take measures to protect the black cats.

  8. Hi,

I have heard that it brings bad luck if you see a black cat walking from the left side across the street or path you are going to the right side. But that’s truly a superstition. I can’t imagine that beautiful animals like cats would mean anything bad just because they are black. Of course I think it shouldn’t be missing in a witches house (not that I like witches as long as they perform black magic!!). I’d love to have one at my place, but maybe with a dog I’d be going outside more 😉 Thanks for your article on Halloween and Cats!

    Cheers, Fabian
